One of the nice things about the Kansas City Mavericks is that they have honored the history of our community’s professional hockey teams with their acknowledgement of all the teams dating back to the Pla-Mors. For the 2020-2021 season, the Mavericks had a tribute night to one of their predecessors, the Blades. On Blades Tribute night, the Mavericks wore specialty jerseys that paid homage to the Blades. They also had a Meet and Greet experience with Blades General Manager Doug Soetaert and captain Gary Emmons.

On May 20, 2021, the 24-26-8-2 Mavericks beat the Allen Americans 4-3 with goals from Willie Corrin, Adam Brady, CJ Eick, and Matt Petgrave. This game also marked Eick’s 200th gave as a Maverick.
