“Welcome to Independence” The city council approved a propsal to build a new 5,800 seat arena that would serve as home to a CHL team that later became an ECHL team. The Mavericks started play in the new arena in November of 2009.
They were joined as a tenant by the indoor soccer team, the Kansas City Comets.
Cable Dahmer Arena is also the place for concerts in Eastern Jackson County, Missouri, having hosted acts such as Tech 9ine and Alan Jackson.
